Orange Marmalade Recipe

This delicious orange marmalade recipe produces the best jam! It is sweet with that great tang of a Seville orange. This recipe embodies everything wonderful about orange marmalade, in fact we are sure you'll never want another orange marmalade. Everyone is sure to love this amazing jam! Spread it on muffins, biscuits, or toast or use is as a topping on your favorite ice cream or yogurt!

Ingredients
- 6 Seville Oranges
- 1 Navel Orange
- 10 cups Water
- 8 cups Granulated Sugar
- A Pinch Salt
Cooking Directions
- Wash and dry your oranges.
- Cut each orange in half around the equator.
- Using a mesh strainer, forcefully squeeze all the juice from the halves getting only juice and leaving the seeds behind!
- Tie up your orange seeds in the mesh and set aside.
- Cut the orange rind into very thin slices or cubes. It is important to cut these pieces very finely.
- In a large stock pot, add your orange slices, seed pouch, water, pinch of salt, and orange juice. Once your liquid has come to a boil, reduce it to a low simmer. Cook your marmalade until the peels become translucent, typically about 25 minutes.
- Stir in your sugar, and bring the mixture back up to a boil. Stir occasionally.
- You can remove and discard the seed pouch half way through cooking process. If your using a candy thermometer, cook until marmalade has reached 220F degrees. If not, wait until the marmalade is a nice jelly like consistency.
- Remove your marmalade from the stock pot and place into jars. Keep refrigerated and enjoy your orange marmalade!
